Some love stories start with sparks.

Others... With a middle school hoodie and a whole lot of heart.

Caleb and Reya’s wedding day felt like the sweetest full-circle moment. It was a celebration of young love that has grown and deepened over the years into something steady, joyful, and true. These two have been inseparable since they were just kids, and their story has always had a tender, protective kind of love at the center of it.

During the ceremony, their officiant shared a memory from those early days. A group of boys had teased Reya and poured water on her white shirt, and without hesitation, Caleb offered his hoodie so she wouldn’t feel exposed. She took it home and slept in it for a month. Years later, she walked down the aisle to the one who’s always had her back.

Their entire day was filled with that same intentional love: thoughtful, family-oriented, and completely authentic to who they are. Reya made sure Caleb’s tie, boutonnière, shoes, and other essentials were already laid out and waiting in his getting-ready space so he could show up without stress. She keeps him grounded, focused, and smiling. And Caleb? He adores her. I know this firsthand because he was the one who secretly reached out to book me for their surprise proposal. What started as a couple’s session turned into one of the most memorable moments. Right in the middle of a spinning pose, she turned to find him down on one knee.

It’s clear they value each other deeply, but what also stood out was how much they value family. Reya made it a point to take photos with every family member who attended. That’s not always an easy task on a wedding day, but it was such a beautiful reflection of how much their people mean to them. Some had traveled long distances to be there, and the couple made sure they felt seen and appreciated.

They were married on Reya’s grandparents’ and dad’s beautiful property in Niota, Tennessee, which added so much warmth and meaning to their day. And let’s talk about the weather. The forecast had shown thunderstorms right at ceremony time. In fact, it rained heavily throughout most of the morning. But about twenty minutes before the ceremony began, the skies cleared completely. Sunshine and blue skies took over for the rest of the day. It was a literal miracle, and such a sweet reminder of God’s presence and favor. There’s no doubt that He had His hand on this day.

One of my favorite things about this wedding was how Caleb and Reya stayed true to themselves. Though they had originally planned a first dance, they made a last-minute decision to skip it. It didn’t feel like them, so they let it go. But they did share beautiful dances with their parents. Caleb’s mom beamed with pride as she danced with her son, her face glowing with joy. And Reya’s dad looked at her with such tenderness, while she returned his gaze with admiration and love. These were the moments that made time feel like it stood still.

When the dance floor opened, the celebration really began. Several guests couldn’t be pulled away, and their energy was contagious. Even Caleb and his brother, a bit reluctant at first, were eventually coaxed into the fun by the bride herself. Their laughter said it all.

We ended the evening with a joyful bubble exit and one final specialty night shot that Caleb and Reya were kind enough to indulge me in. It was the perfect way to wrap up a day that was filled with lighthearted fun, deep love, and so much gratitude.
